Who We Are
Alpha Pregnancy Help Center is a licensed medical community clinic with the California Department of Public Health, serving Merced County and the surrounding region.
Alpha PHC is licensed with state and federal CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) agencies, and all medical services are performed by licensed medical staff and volunteers under the supervision of our Medical Director, and according to AIUM* and NIFLA** standards.

Alpha PHC is also registered with the IRS as a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation for religious and charitable purposes.
At our main location in Merced and on our mobile medical unit, Alpha PHC offers life-affirming services, resources and support, so no one has to face a pregnancy decision alone.
What We Do
An unplanned pregnancy can bring real challenges, such as financial uncertainty, relationship issues, and vocational or academic dilemmas. Alpha PHC exists to meet those challenges by providing accurate medical information, community referrals and material resources – all at no cost to the client.
We do not profit from any pregnancy decision. Instead, we create a safe, non-judgmental environment where women and men can talk openly, ask questions, and thoughtfully consider their next steps. We believe that informed decisions lead to healthier futures, and we are here to provide the information and support every individual deserves.
Our Why
In the Hebrew language, the word for compassion has the same root as the word for womb. God designed the womb to be a place of nurturing, protection, mercy, and compassion.
But in California, the state has decreed that the womb is not a safe place. In a constitutional amendment the same year Roe was overturned, California legally enshrined a woman’s right to abortion and reproductive freedom – with no thought for the rights of the unborn.
At Alpha PHC we believe every human is created in God’s image and has inestimable value. We also believe that the body of a tiny developing baby inside the womb is a separate and completely unique human being with its own DNA. The baby’s body is not the woman’s body, and only the Creator God has the authority to give and take away life.
As we continue defending the unborn, we trust God to work through His people to defend and sustain this ministry.
Our Team
Alpha PHC is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors and led by an Executive Director who oversees daily operations and community partnerships. Our licensed medical staff and volunteers deliver exceptional care and provide fact-based information with professionalism and respect.
Our capable and caring staff and volunteer Client Advocates receive specialized training in peer counseling to provide education and resources tailored to each person’s needs. Together, our team provides every client with high-quality care without pressure or expectations and serves our donors and partners in a spirit of gratitude.
Our Approach
Alpha PHC is completely donor-funded. We occasionally receive grants from a local government agency. We do not receive revenue from clients. And we do not profit in any way from a woman’s pregnancy decision. Instead, we create a safe and caring environment where women and men can talk openly, ask questions, and carefully consider their next steps. We believe that informed decisions lead to healthier futures, and we are here to provide the information and support every individual deserves.
For a woman choosing to carry her baby, we connect her with local agencies, parenting classes, and practical resources to help her become the best mom she can be. We also provide information about adoption and can connect her with an adoption agency, if she desires.
For a woman who chooses not to carry her baby, we inform her about fetal gestation, her reproductive system, and various abortion procedures, to help her be fully aware of the risks before she makes a decision that could negatively impact her health longterm.
